The most unconventional prospect we highlighted before the season, Jaiden Lo Re was a 19-year-old who had yet to play a single game professionally. The only tape I had seen was a YouTube video where he took live at-bats off of Trevor Bauer, and I REALLY liked what I saw.

Fast forward to 2026, and Lo Re has cracked the Top 30 prospects list for Baltimore, sitting at #26. MLB.com still has him outside the top 30 for the organization, but it feels like it’s only a matter of time. He made an impact quickly, hitting .354 in the FCL and a earned a quick promotion to Low-A Delmarva.

He is a natural shortstop and has the tools to stay there, but he has moved around a bit already in his professional career. He’s also taken reps at second, third and center field. The best part of Lo Re’s game continues to be his plate discipline and defense. At just 19, he continues to make great swing decisions, doesn’t chase, and just like we called out in his initial spotlight, Lo Re continues to walk at a very high rate professionally. Power will likely never be a major part of his game, but he was promoted to the Delmarva Shorebirds on June 2nd and hit his first Low-A homer three days later. In 85 at-bats, Lo Re is hitting .329 with 7 doubles, 1 homer, 12 RBIs and 18 walks to just 9 strikeouts.

Most of the prospects in these updates will see the Majors very soon, if they’re not already there. Lo Re will take some time, but I have NO DOUBT that he can get there. I previously compared him to a Jack Wilson or a Craig Biggio, but I think he has the potential to be a future batting champion like Luis Arraez. Time will tell…
